Spider 291

Joe Colombo (IT)
1965
At the heart of the Spider lamp, designed by Italian master Joe Colombo in 1965, lies its distinctive structure: a chrome vertical rod from which slender metal arms extend outward like spider legs, supporting a delicate lampshade. This unique arrangement creates not only a captivating visual effect but also enables versatile, modular lighting configurations that adapt seamlessly to a wide variety of environments and preferences. When lit, the soft, diffused light emitted by the Spider lamp’s shades creates a warm and welcoming ambiance, making it an ideal focal point in living rooms, dining areas, or bedrooms. In 1967, Spider won the first Golden Compass Award for Oluce. Additionally, it is part of the permanent collections of the Triennale di Milano, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Kunstmuseum in Düsseldorf, and the “Neue Sammlung” museum in Munich. The Spider family includes a table lamp and a floor lamp and is available in various colors. Made in Italy. Visible in the showroom.
