The Coupé collection, designed by Joe Colombo, was initially conceived as a variant of the Spider family, also created by the same designer, retaining its base and stem. The simple yet ingenious mechanism connecting the stem to the head allows the beam to be directed in multiple directions by moving the dome up, down, and to the sides. In 1968, Coupé won the “International Design Award” from the American Institute of Interior Designers in Chicago. It is part of the permanent collections at the MoMA in New York and the “Neue Sammlung” museum in Munich. With its timeless design and attention to detail, Coupé seamlessly fits into a wide range of decorative styles, from minimalist contemporary to vintage-inspired retro. Available in two versions, with a semi-cylindrical or semi-spherical dome, many models of Coupé have been created over the years, making it one of the most famous and beloved collections from Oluce.
