Minimalism and simplicity are the key concepts that inspired Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec in the design of the Pila chair. Produced since 2013, Pila has quickly become one of Magis’s best-sellers and, within less than a decade, a modern design icon. The plywood seat and backrest are supported by four slender solid wood legs, held together by an almost invisible structure of die-cast aluminum. The backrest is delicately inserted into the frame like the blade of a knife, providing absolute stability. The seat and backrest are crafted in ash plywood, either natural or painted; the legs are in solid ash, natural or painted; and the connecting element is made of die-cast aluminum, either sanded or painted with epoxy resin.
