If most design enthusiasts know Muller Van Severen for their furniture, the story of the designer couple actually began with the design of these “Hanging Lamps.” “It all started from a need,” explains Hannes. “We were renovating our house, which is an old building. There was no outlet to plug in a lamp above the dining table, so we designed a lamp that could be mounted on the wall,” Hannes specifies. “It’s a fantastic lampshade: perfectly neutral. Fortunately, we found a company capable of producing it.” The first prototypes were presented at Muller Van Severen’s very first solo exhibition in 2011. During this exhibition, Fien and Hannes filled the space of the Valerie Traan gallery with creations that made it seem as if someone had taken colored pencils and started drawing in the air. This is exactly how these lamps should be interpreted: seemingly naive drawings materializing in real life. These Hanging Lamps are now available in 5 different models (5 shapes). Thanks to their versatile design, these lamps are suitable for various spaces, from the living room and dining room to the bedroom and office. They bring a touch of sophistication and style, regardless of where they are placed. The Hanging Lamp No. 3 is offered in different colors: ivory, red, and black. It is also available in steel (non-lacquered) or brass finishes. Once mounted on the wall, the height of the lamp is not adjustable, but it can be moved laterally. Available in the showroom.
