Indoor/Outdoor Projector – Iconic Creation by Le Corbusier – Made in Italy Between 1951 and 1957, Le Corbusier designed the Sanskar Kendra Museum in the Indian city of Ahmedabad. This spiraled building incorporates all the characteristic elements of his architectural style. Specifically for this project, Le Corbusier developed a lighting system in 1954 that he named “Projecteur,” installed in the structure to maximize the lighting effect. The lampshade of the lamp is made of aluminum, lacquered in subtle tones (night blue, white sand, and moka), featuring a simple and well-proportioned conical shape. Small metal construction elements and the butterfly screws are chrome-plated black, forming a notable design element along the lampshade, emphasizing the retro charm and industrial character of the lamp. The lampshade is closed off with a slightly outwardly curved glass diffuser, which has a sandblasted interior, providing a soft, uniform light that is not glaring. Made in Italy.
