« After practicing as a lawyer specialized in arbitration and commercial litigation for nearly 15 years at a renowned Brussels firm, I felt the urge to embark on this slightly crazy project of opening my own design store. I have always been passionate about architecture and design. For about ten years, I had been nurturing this desire to have my own store, though it always seemed out of reach since I didn’t have the ideal training or contacts in the field. Then, we found ourselves in lockdown due to Covid. Like many people, it was a time of deep reflection and reevaluation for me. One evening in June 2020, I had a real ‘click’: I had to go for it, to give myself the chance to make this dream I’ve held for so many years a reality.»

This is how SISU was born.
A name that is far from random. Sisu is a Finnish word with no real equivalent in English; it can be interpreted as an inner strength, a mindset of resilience and courage to face adversity and, ultimately, to cultivate happiness. It perfectly embodies the spirit that drove me at every stage of bringing this project to life and will continue to guide me in the future.
Each selected brand, every product displayed in the showroom reflects my tastes and expresses my appreciation for design pieces that are not only aesthetic, functional, and durable but – perhaps most importantly – evoke emotion and possess character.
